The Soper Literary Agency was founded by Stan Soper, an experienced lawyer and entrepreneur who is also the founder of  Textnovel, a social network for authors and readers. Mr. Soper has a B.A. in English, Magna Cum Laude with Honors from BYU and a J.D. from Yale Law School. He has practiced law since 1991 with a focus on contracts, business issues and intellectual property (including both trademarks and copyrights). He has represented both publishers and authors in his legal practice as well as a wide variety of consumer product companies.

Mr. Soper’s passion is fiction.  This began when he spent nearly every afternoon for many years as a young man reading every single fiction book in his town library and has continued  to the present day. His interests are wide ranging, from literary fiction to young adult to fantasy and science fiction. Mr. Soper won numerous awards for writing while an undergraduate, was the editor and publisher of the Yale Law School newspaper, has published essays and articles and is an aspiring novelist himself.  He founded Textnovel as a way of helping himself and other aspiring writers find a way to get feedback on their work and to get noticed by publishers.

The Soper Literary Agency also includes individuals with editorial and publishing experience. We involve them on specific projects where appropriate.
