The Soper Literary Agency is a new kind of literary agency. How? For one thing, we aren’t trying to represent 1,000 authors. We are choosy about the select group of authors we represent.  We expect them to be equally careful about choosing us. Our goal is to develop a long-term relationship with a select group of top authors in select literary fields.

Here are a few things that make us unique:

  • We have a special place in our hearts for new and emerging authors.
  • We are upfront and honest with our authors at all times so that they don’t waste time on unmarketable concepts.
  • We only accept representation of a book if we have a high certainty we can find a publisher.
  • We are active participants in the writing process – from project conception, to character development, to editorial feedback – we don’t leave our authors on their own.
  • We help our authors develop a “brand” strategy based on sound literary and marketing principles, keeping their ultimate objectives in mind at all times.
  • We have on-staff legal, publishing and editorial expertise – this saves the author money since getting an outside lawyer involved is optional.

We are based in Park City, Utah. We accept email queries only. If you want to submit work to us, please put QUERY in the subject line of your email and send your submission to stans@soperagency.com. See our Submission Guidelines for details.
